Full of enthusiasm for Bettina Castaño in the El Amor Brujo and Zarzuelas
Language and dance as the basics of music
'…Miguel de Roa let the Basel symphony orchestra play without reservation, but with dynamic and tonal variation – as a result a fascinating sounding psychograph was created. Isabel Pedro held herself back with singing, but as a 'story-teller' she managed a suggestive immediacy. This was also achieved by Bettina Castaño, who's dance sensually charged the music. One has to see this woman, who danced with strong expression and unbelievable perfection and in the most different of costumes, each one more beutiful than the next. Spoken language and danced movement were core elements of music – that seldom succeeds in this extent of perfection.'
