EL AMOR BRUJO UND ZARZUELAS MIT DEM BASLER SINFONIEORCHESTER 2001

Absolute enthusiasm for Bettina Castaño in El Amor Brujo and Zarzuelas
Excerpt from the review of 12 January 2004 – Badische Zeitung:
Language and Dance as Elements of Music
"...Miguel de Roa allowed the Basel Chamber Orchestra to play without reservations, but with dynamic and tonal differentiations which resulted in a fascinating-sounding psychograph. As a singer Isabel Pedro held herself back, but as a storyteller she accomplished a suggestive immediacy. This immediacy also emanated from the fantastic Bettina Castaño, whose dancing was sensually charged by the music. One must have seen this woman who danced with such potent expression and unbelievable perfection in various costumes, each one more beautiful than the last. Spoken language and dance movements as components of the music: this seldom succeeds with such perfection."
