A first of it’s kind, Poetry Dance Performance, Bhoomiputri tells the story of a woman; every woman. It traces her journey from innocence through
experience to self realization. It is also the journey every man must make to awaken the Goddess in him.

Bhoomiputri addresses the larger issues of woman empowerment, explores the delicate terrains of man - woman relationship and its many hues. It brings to life the yin and yang in every human being and calls for a more sensitive, humane society where men and women hold hands and live in harmony.

Bhoomiputri is a stage adaptation of Meera Nair’s book of poems Grey: Born When Black Invaded White. The poems brought the poet the second place at the Muse India Writer’s Award. The poems are widely appreciated for their’ beauty, irony, intensity and spirit of combat.’

Next Wednesday, the Kathak expert Aditi Bhagwat, born in Mumbai, will proceed step by step to bring the city closer to traditional dance forms from Korea, Spain and India with an 85-minute performance in the Prithvi Theater. Lee Chuljin, a traditional Buddhist Korean dancer, will show the performance with the apt title "Beyond Borders"; Then Bettina Castaño, a flamenco artist from Spain; Latasana Devi, which specializes in Nanipuri dance, and Bhagwat, which will show a Kathak routine.
